Hospital evangelism was started in 2007 by around 15 church members who visit patients in Entebbe hospital and its TB isolation ward every Friday for the purpose of praying with them in the situations that they are passing through and encouraging them. James 5:14-15 says “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven”.
The goal of this outreach is to demonstrate the love of Christ to those who have lost hope and show them that God is able to work in all situations, even those that seem impossible. Patients are encouraged to pray to God themselves and therefore develop a close relationship with Him.
